Big news! The City of Reno has proclaimed November 14, 2018 as Dave Archer Day. Archer is President and CEO of NCET.
Dave Archer, who for more than 12 years has built NCET into Northern Nevada’s biggest networking and educational organization with more than 600 members, will be recognized on Wednesday with “Dave Archer Day” by proclamation from the Reno City Council.
Reno Vice Mayor and Councilmember Neoma Jardon will present the proclamation to Archer at NCET’s monthly Biz Café event at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Rounds Bakery on East Moana Lane.
The proclamation, signed by Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, cites Archer’s work in managing NCET without compensation after loss of congressional grant funding while a new business model was created, transitioning NCET into a member- and sponsored-funded organization with a 30-member board, and managing NCET’s Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup College Business Plan competition for Nevada’s College and University students.
Archer earned a master’s degree in business and bachelor’s degree in management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif., and associate’s degrees in electronics engineering and broadcast engineering from the College of San Mateo. He held executive positions in international product and market development at Viacom, Home Box Office, AOL Netscape and Headlight, and is a co-founder of the Reno Angels, chair of Entrepreneurship Nevada, and a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education’s EPSCoR Advisory Committee.
